I am delighted to be partnering with a dynamic regional accountancy firm seeking to recruit a Tax Manager as part of their management team within Business Tax Advisory, providing specialist corporate tax advice to our clients and colleagues.

Key responsibilities will include:

Technical

  • Draft technically complex advice and supervise/review the work of colleagues.
  • Identify areas of risk by undertaking research and analysis of tax legislation, tax cases and changes to HMRC guidance.
  • Respond to legislative changes in a timely fashion.
  • Undertake high risk corporation tax compliance reviews.
  • Carry out tax advisory work.

General

  • Look to meet with client in place of the partner.
  • Responsibility for work planning across the team.
  • Involvement in the recruitment and development of members of the team.

Business development

  • Actively seek out opportunities to develop and grow business within the corporate tax team.
  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of client’s business.
  • Maintain good working relationships with clients.

Task management

  • Ensure the Firm carries out its professional duties properly.
  • Acting as a mentor for seniors and assistant managers.
  • Consistently achieve deadlines and understand the commercial implications of actions.

The successful candidate will be fully qualified (ACA / ACCA / CTA) with significant experience within practice and coaching / mentoring colleagues. You will demonstrate a proven ability to adapt quickly to changing deadline and priorities and preparing and reviewing technically complex advice.
