Tax Manager

Are you an accountant with considerable knowledge and experience in tax compliance, an ACCA/ACA qualification or QBE and the potential to become or the demonstrable experience of being a natural leader and a respected manager?

This role principally requires a core skillset of reviewing the provision of personal and corporate tax computations and leading the workflow, management of deadlines, team performance and client relationships. More niche tax skills and advisory experience will be desirable as will any soft skills which will support the firm in business development or in a creative approach to change, improving processes and solving problems.

• Manage a varied tax portfolio, from planning through to completion including liaison and billing.
• Preparation of corporation and personal tax returns.
• Preparation of tax repayment claims and related working papers.
• Provide tax advisory support to clients and colleagues.
• Lead liaison with HMRC, proactively handling queries.
• Deliver tax planning advice from time to time.
• Support with other ad hoc financial assignments for clients.
• Present work and briefings to staff on tax topics.
• Work closely with senior management to help shape the strategic direction of the tax offering.
• Work autonomously whilst ensuring expectations, deadlines, and budgets are being met.
• Build trusted and long lasting client relationships.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure clients are benefitting from all business services.
• Mentor staff through constructive feedback, knowledge sharing, and training opportunities.
• Identify opportunities to introduce and cross-sell company services to the tax portfolio.
• Set an example as a hands-on and supportive manager.

• £50,000 to £70,000 per annum

• ACCA or ACA qualification with previous tax and supervisory experience in practice or QBE.
