The Tax Disputes practice is spearheaded by some of the best known Partners in the industry and has experienced remarkable growth in its five year history. The team handles a diverse range of contentious tax matters, from managing tax risk to representing clients in tax litigation before tribunals and higher courts. They have earned a reputation for excellence in key sectors such as technology, financial services, contingent workforce, and tax-based litigation.

As a Senior Associate in the Tax Disputes team, you will collaborate closely with partners to further expand the practice. We are seeking individuals with a strong academic background and exceptional communication, organisational, and analytical skills. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Solicitor or Barrister specialising in tax disputes. While we are primarily looking for Senior Associates, candidates with varying levels of experience will be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside partners to handle complex tax disputes, including HMRC investigations and tax litigation.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients across a range of sectors, ensuring compliance and effective risk management.
  • Conduct legal research, draft documents, and represent clients in negotiations and court proceedings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across different service lines to deliver comprehensive solutions to clients.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with experience in tax disputes work.
  • Strong academic background with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality work and building strong client relationships.
