A client baed in Rochdale is recruiting for a Tax Accountant who has practice experience of dealing mainly with financial statements preparation and submission, CT600’s, VAT returns, self-assessment returns and possibly managing / training / supervising junior staff.

A small sized accountancy practice which is expanding based in Rochdale.

Job description

This role will cover a range of responsibilities in a variety of different areas of bookkeeping, accounts preparation and tax. The position is a full time role.

Your role will cover:

- Bookkeeping via a variety of digital systems.

- Preparation, calculation and submission of VAT returns to HMRC.

- Preparation of management accounts.

- Preparation, calculation and submission of Self-Assessment Returns to HMRC.

- Preparation of annual financial statements.

- Preparation, calculation and submission of Corporation Tax Returns to HMRC.

- Liaising with clients.

- Operating with a regular portfolio of clients.

- Supporting / supervising junior staff

Qualifications and skills:

- A good set of IT skills, with experience and familiarity with Microsoft Office products, accounts, tax and bookkeeping software, preferably with good experience of Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent and IRIS /Digita.

- Good communication skills, able to confidently liaise with clients by telephone, e-mail and face to face.

- Good organisational skills.

- Able to work as both individually and within a team.

- Preference will be given to candidates with experience within public practice.

- Preference will be given to candidates with chartered or equivalent qualifications
