Surface Designer – Barnsley – £27,000 - £28,000

Chase & Holland are excited to be working with an established and rapidly growing wholesaler in Barnsley who are looking to recruit an Surface Designer to join their growing team. As Surface Designer, you must have a creative flair and be able to communicate clearly and work collaboratively as part of a team. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in other departments building strong relationships. You will assist in the everyday running of the design department creating surface design concepts.

The business has recently moved to brand new premises and on offer with this company is the genuine opportunity for career development.

Surface Designer Responsibilities:
  • Creating surface pattern concepts for various items
  • Producing high quality packaging design concepts and branding ideas
  • Consulting with suppliers to ensure artwork is accurate
  • Communicating with the buying team and agreeing on design concepts
  • Producing lifestyle photography for all various products
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Advanced drawing and typography skills including ability produce original artwork / drawings
  • Fully competent in Adobe illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Print knowledge and advanced photography skills
  • Experience of designing products for retail
  • Producing print ready artworks
