Pay rate: £12.88 - £13.91 - Based on Days/Nights and Weekends (Weekly Pay)
 
Full UK Drivers license required

Shift Pattern:
Every Monday 22:00pm - 08:00am Alternate Tuesdays 22:00pm - 08:00am
Every Sunday 09:00am - 17:00pm be willing and have availability to cover holiday/sickness 
Location: Nursling

Unfortunately we cannot provide VISAsponsorshipand we do not hire on a relocation basis, you must currently be based within a commutable distance to Southampton.

This is a permanent position.

Requirements: 
  • Worked as a carer previously in the UK (Preferably atleast 3 months experience)
  • Experience working closely with families of the supported (Preferred not essential)
  • Experience working with brain injuries would be beneficial but not essential
  • Full UK drivers license + own vehicle would be needed for this role due to location
  • Clinical experience would be beneficial but not essential, as you will have to do the following with full training: Hoisting, Manual handling, PEG feeding, Cough Assist & Oral Suction 
This role will be supporting a gentleman with a brain injury and concurrent health complications, he is also non-verbal following a road traffic accident. He is fully aware of what is going on around him and able to answer question, he likes to watch tv and films and he enjoys days out with his support workers. 

This role is a 2 to 1 from 0800 until 2200. Night shift is lone working, however you will have adequate shadow shifts and support from a team of long standing team members who know the gentleman and his needs well. 

He requires PEG feeding, Cough Assistance & Oral Suction. You will receive full clinical training to support this.

Our Support Workers cover all aspects of support for others – from companionship and days out, to personal care and housekeeping. 
  • Support with all facets of daily living
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment
  • Ensure the individual's safety and well-being at all times
  • Communicate effectively with the individual and other team members
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy
  • Adhere to care plans and guidelines provided

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

You’ll need to:
  • Be caring and approachable
  • Hold a Full UK drivers license & have your own vehicle
  • Have experience/Confidence with the following: Hoists, Manual handling, PEG feeding, Cough Assist Machine & Oral Suction
  • Be patient and welcoming
  • Be Helpful, reliable & professional
  • Bonus points if you like pets!  The client has two very friendly dogs
  • A positive outlook
  • Able to help with personal care
  • Potentially administer medication and Ideally hold an NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care or related topic, or be willing to study towards this
