If this sounds like you, do not hesitate to apply to work as a supply teacher today! We are looking for energetic, engaging and enthusiastic teachers to work on a supply basis. You would be working across any number of schools in Cambridgeshire.

If you want to work as a Supply Teacher in Ely, you will be asked to do the following:

  • Supporting and liaising with Teaching Assistants in your class
  • Arrive punctually at the school you have been booked into
  • Ensure that you are reliably available from 7:00am each day (on which you are available for work) for any bookings
  • Follow relevant school policies whilst covering in that school
  • Manage behaviour effectively within any classes you've been asked to cover
  • Pass on relevant information promptly and effectively within the school
  • Set cover work and encouraging pupils to engage and complete said work
  • Take registers, covering form periods and a variety of lessons/subjects throughout the day
  • Provide a calm and productive learning environment for the pupils
  • Deal with any issues that might arise in a prompt and professional manner

Requirements of the job role:

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to get one)
  • A 10 year copy of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
  • You must have the legal right to work in the UK
  • PGCE with QTS (not essential)
  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum
  • Being passionate about teaching and learning
  • Tailoring your approach to the individual needs of children where necessary
