Role Overview:
As a Secondary School Supply Teacher, you will have the opportunity to work across a range of subjects and year groups, covering lessons in the absence of regular classroom teachers. Your role will be dynamic and varied, requiring flexibility, adaptability, and a passion for inspiring young minds.
Key Responsibilities as a Secondary School Supply Teacher:
- Deliver engaging and interactive lessons across a variety of subjects and year groups, following the school's curriculum and lesson plans.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, promoting a positive learning environment where students feel motivated and supported.
- Provide instruction, guidance, and support to students, ensuring their understanding of key concepts and facilitating their academic progress.
- Adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special educational needs (SEN) or English as an Additional Language (EAL).
- Complete any necessary administrative tasks, such as registering attendance and leaving detailed feedback for the regular classroom teacher.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching in a secondary school setting, with a strong understanding of the UK curriculum.
- Flexibility and availability to work on short notice, often in different classrooms and subject areas.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues quickly.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to teaching, with a passion for inspiring young people and facilitating their learning.
