Supply Learning Support Assistant - Stevenage

As a Supply Learning Support Assistant, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students and contribute to their academic success.

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Supply Learning Support Assistants - who are able to commute to Steevnage - to join our team on a flexible basis. As a Supply Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. You will provide one-on-one assistance, facilitate small group activities, and collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure the individual needs of each student are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with diverse learning needs, including but not limited to those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), English as an additional language (EAL), and behavioural challenges.
  • Assist students with classroom activities, assignments, and projects under the guidance of teaching staff.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and empowered to succeed.
  • Implement strategies and interventions outlined in individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management plans.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers to inform instructional planning and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote the social, emotional, and academic development of students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions, ensuring confidentiality and data protection compliance.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A compassionate and patient demeanour, with a genuine passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in different classrooms and support a range of students with varying needs.
  • Basic understanding of relevant policies and legislation related to SEND and safeguarding.
