Supply Chain Lead - £25000 - £35000
 
Based from Barnstaple, North Devon, two days a week, covering the UK.

A worldwide manufacturer/supplier of cutting-edge electronic wound components, printed-circuit board assemblies, cabinet wiring and electronic test equipment designed for applications in specialized markets with a focus on performance-critical solutions mainly in aerospace and defence.
 
What is the purpose of the Supply Chain Lead?
 
This role focuses on Quality and contributes to cutting-edge projects by leading supplier selection, delivery, negotiation, and quality processes. You will organise, motivate and lead cross functional teams with the ability to see beyond the detail using your Engineering acumen.
 
What will you do as the Supply Chain Lead? 
  • Innovative Leadership: Contribute to cutting-edge projects by leading supplier selection, delivery, negotiation, and quality processes.
  • Excellence-Driven: Uphold a commitment to excellence, driving continuous testing and productivity among our teams.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to foster strong relationships and effective communication at all levels.
  • Supplier Management: Lead suppliers through development activities, manage on-boarding, and provide professional advice on technical, process, quality issues (purchasing, engineering, production, and incoming inspection) and compliance capabilities.
  • Problem Solving: Apply structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D and demonstrate an innovative approach to overcome challenges. Quality escape containment planning.
What skills and experience will the  Supply Chain Lead have?
  • Degree or equivalent in Business Studies, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Significant experience in aerospace or a similar industry, subcontract management, and working with complex internal and international supply chains.
  • Strong negotiation skills, familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, and knowledge of AS9102 Rev B.
  • IRCA Lead Auditor certification is essential to conduct any audits as per agreed audit plan as required.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with proven track record of supporting cost reduction programmes.
  • Excellent negotiation skills; knowledge of contract drafting preferred.
  • Familiar with SIOP/S&OP Process.
  • Experience in quality safety, security and HSE requirements.
  • A sound experience base in problem solving – method specific.
