Role: Supply Chain Manager
Location: Dartford, Kent & Hybrid
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Job Purpose:
Management of the supply chain for UK and International markets and relationships with our partner contract manufacturing organisations (CMO) and distribution service organisations (4PL & 3PL).
Key Responsibilities:
Defining and taking the lead on the production planning strategy and plans to ensure that company meets its business objectives
- Define inventory holding strategy and targets
- Lead the preparation of a rolling master manufacturing forecast, articulating key recommendations and decisions to the management team
- Supply chain management of product supply chain throughout its lifecycle from development to exit
- Working closely with R&D and Technical colleagues to ensure that supply chain requirements are considered during technical transfer of the product
- Track and drive supply chain metrics as well as leading the development of the S&OP process
- Lead projects to simplify the existing supply chain and ensure that processes and dossiers are updated
- Help sales team to communicate with customers for supply related matters
To act as the commercial interface with our internal and external manufacturing and distribution partners
- Work with R&D and Technical head for all contract negotiations with contract manufacturers
- Work with sales teams to develop volume based pricing scenarios for contract negotiations
- Manage service performance against agreed standards in the contract and quality requirements
- Work with R&D and Technical head for Project management of technical transfers between manufacturing locations
- Management of stock forecasting and ordering process with manufacturers
- Optimisation of stock holdings of finished packs, FP and API to ensure overall costs are minimised
Drive continuous improvement in the departments processes and responsibilities
- Work with finance and sales department to create a continuous improvement culture and drive the execution of robust cost savings programs through inventory and non-inventory areas
- Ensure compliance to the relevant company SOP & current MHRA & EU GDP requirement
- Drive sustainable compliance to current global quality requirements
- Participate in resolving quality matters with contract manufacturers
- Participate in resolving supply chain matters with distribution partners
Management and development of the supply chain and customer services team
- Lead the team in setting clear objectives, providing consistent direction, ensuring ownership and accountability and driving high performance
Secondary - to provide cover as support as required.
- Strong consultative and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to summarize and communicate at all levels of the organization
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to take initiative and work with different departments as a team player within the organisation
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Facilitation and Leadership skills
Qualifications and Experience:
- Educated to degree level in science or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical supply chain operations
- Demand planning model experience on the ERP system
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to take initiative and work with different departments as a team player within the organisation
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Facilitation and Leadership skills
