About the Role

The Supply Chain Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Operations and CTO by managing the supply chain effectively. You will serve as a key liaison between external electronics and mechanical manufacturing partners and the company, ensuring seamless coordination and communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage supply chain strategies to optimise efficiency and minimise costs.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for the seamless integration of supply chain processes.
  • Utilise ERP (we use Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central) to analyse data and make informed decisions
  • Demand Planning: Utilise the forecasted demand for products and components, ensuring adequate inventory levels to meet customer needs while minimizing excess stock.
  • Supply Chain Management: Oversee all aspects of the supply chain, including maintaining the Approved Vendor Listing (AVL) and managing relationships with suppliers.
  • Purchasing Activities: Handle procurement activities, including obtaining quotes, raising purchase orders, and monitoring lead times for component stock.
  • Supplier Development: Identify new suppliers and alternative providers, negotiating pricing to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Bill of Materials (BOM) Management: Work closely with Engineering to update and maintain the BOM for all products, ensuring accuracy and cost efficiency.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with testing and assembly standards by third-party providers, monitoring and reporting on product quality.
  • Stock Control: Manage stock inventory, including receiving, recording, and maintaining accurate stock levels. Collaborate with the Operations team on stock counting and control processes.
  • Reporting and KPI Analysis: Prepare ad hoc reports and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and optimize supply chain performance.
  • Order Fulfilment Support: Assist Operations team when needed to ensure timely, accurate order fulfilment

Essential Skills

  • Interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners
  • Experience in procurement and supply chain management, preferably within high-tech manufacturing
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently
  • Proactive self-starter with a strong initiative to drive continuous improvement
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting
  • Hands-on approach and "get the job done" attitude

Desirable Skills

  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central for inventory management and procurement
  • A keen interest in the energy sector and commitment to achieving Net Zero goals
