In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the quality and reliability of components and materials sourced from their suppliers. Your expertise will ensure that their products meet the highest standards of performance and safety, reinforcing their commitment to excellence.
Senior Quality Engineer - Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and address supplier quality issues promptly to protect build volume and product quality.
- Determine supplier liability for quality issues and communicate findings with supporting evidence.
- Implement containment measures to manage supplier-related quality issues effectively.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities and suitability to meet company and industry quality standards.
- Provide input into New Product Introduction (NPI) processes regarding supplier suitability and capability.
- Conduct supplier systems audits and manufacturing process audits to ensure compliance and address concerns.
- Manage Quality Engineering Reports related to supplier issues.
- Monitor and communicate supplier performance through scorecards and KPI improvement projects.
- Develop suppliers to achieve robust root cause analysis and effective corrective and preventative actions.
- Communicate quality issues to suppliers and collaborate on containment actions.
- Plan and conduct supplier visits and audits to assess performance and build relationships.
- Manage the Supplier Contact Database to facilitate communication and information exchange.
- Provide technical support to production and other departments for resolving non-conformances.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and practices within the company.
- Proven experience in Supplier Quality Engineering or related role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO9001, IATF16949).
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to conduct audits and perform root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
