Summary ***Internal applications only, please***
We welcome close to 28 million visits every year to the historic houses, gardens, and coastlines we care for. We’re making a huge investment into our Retail business to make sure our visitor experience is the best it can be and that we’re able to continue looking after these special places.
When it comes to Retail we want the products in our shops, and online, to reflect our commitment to thinking and acting sustainably. We need to make sure we are sourcing products mindfully and reflecting our charitable ethos of connecting people with nature.
To ensure or products reflect those values, and our Retail department runs as smoothly as possible, we are looking for a Supplier Administration Assistant to join the team.

What it's like to work here We’re bigger than you think, we are more complicated than we appear, and we’re larger scale than you’d imagine. We’ve got passionate people in all our teams, and we’ve got so much more we want to achieve. We’re for everyone, forever and we really mean that.
Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.
What you'll be doing Using your excellent interpersonal skills and passion for sustainability, you will work with our plant supply base to meet our peat-related objectives. You will visit our national plant supply base and nurseries to capture information and pull together a database of information. You will manage communications with our plant supply base and carry out necessary administration on behalf of our retail teams.
You’ll provide a consistent point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders, responding via both email and ‘phone. You’ll apply your organisational and planning skills to make sure that policy deadlines are met, working with the Sourcing Standards team, to coordinate your workload.
You will keep up to date with horticultural policies in line with the strategic direction of Retail, sharing learnings with the wider team, seeking out opportunities to learn new skills and develop your knowledge of our plant suppliers’ base.
Who we're looking for You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what is possible.  We’d love to hear from you if you have: •Interpersonal and communication skills as this role requires building relationships with specific suppliers. •Team working and reporting skills, as this role requires collaboration with our internal retail team. •Organisational skills, accurately prioritising daily, weekly and ad-hoc tasks. •Skills in Microsoft Office software packages particularly Excel. •A good knowledge of plants and horticulture. •Attention to detail, ability to work with and capture data.
You should also be: •A self-starter, who is happy to work independently. •Willing to travel across the country visiting our suppliers (travel expenses covered).
