Main Areas of Responsibility

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Raising standards of attainment and achievement and supporting pupils to make progress by removing barriers to learning.
  • Being the deputy designated safeguarding lead for the Academy
  • Making formal referrals to Bromley safeguarding Hub and ensuring all concerns are logged and stored securely
  • Promoting a safe environment for children and young people
  • Preparing reports for meetings, and case conferences
  • Keeping up to date records of actions taken and support provided to children and their families
  • Communicating with relevant members of staff regarding vulnerable children
  • Supporting the DSL and other safeguarding trained members of staff with decision making
  • Under the guidance of the safeguarding lead, deciding whether Children’s Social Care Services is the appropriate course of action or whether another form of intervention such as the Early Help Approach is more viable
  • Ensuring own training is up to date and meets statutory requirements
  • Organising, attending and minuting TAF and TAC meetings
  • Making referrals and liaising with practitioners, education colleagues, local agencies and community groups
  • Using our MIS to create reports and update student data
  • Implementing the academy’s positive behaviour management policy, providing individual targeted support for pupils, where necessary
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of the whole school attendance policy
  • Undertaking home visits
  • Completing and monitoring accurate register-keeping and distinguishomg0 between authorised and unauthorised absence
  • Completing first day calling and logging results.
  • Being the first point of call for attendance meetings
  • Completing CMEs
What We are Looking For

We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • NVQ or equivalent qualification or experience in relevant discipline
  • Good numeracy/literacy skills
  • A minimum of two years’ school office experience
  • Experience of general clerical/administrative/financial work
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures for young people
  • Experience of reception duties including dealing with visitors to the academy
  • Appropriate knowledge of first aid
  • Good ICT skills
