I am currently recruiting for a Strategic Partnership Lead Assets & Estates on behalf of my client, a leading public sector organisation based in Huddersfield (HD1).

You will be responsible for the leadership and management of the Asset Strategy team and the Disposals, Acquisitions and Commercial teams ensuring effective and efficient strategic and operational day to day management of the services provided by these teams. 

Estates and assets divided into 3 divisions and this role has oversight of all 3.

  • Strategy, land and property
  • Disposals and acquisitions
  • Commercial estate (large shopping centre to shops on council estates) 

Duties of the Strategic Partnership Lead will include:

  • Provide strategic oversight of the Council’s office accommodation portfolio ensuring that it is fit for purpose in a post COVID world, is aligned with place-based working, delivers transformational change through the Way We Work programme and is closely aligned to the work of the Corporate Facility Management (FM) team who manage the portfolio on a day-to-day operational basis.
  • Ensuring that there is a periodic, systematic review of all Council owned property and land assets to ensure that our extensive portfolios are used efficiently and effectively to support service delivery.
  • Strategic oversight of the extensive Commercial portfolio of land and property including significant retail and office assets, ensuring that the commercial portfolio is modernised, performs well, delivers the financial return required and contributes strongly to the Council’s key strategic outcomes.
  • Strategic Leadership of the Service’s input into key Council regeneration projects including the Cultural Heart, Station to Stadium and the Huddersfield and Dewsbury Blueprints, plus major land and property acquisitions and disposals that help deliver the Council’s ambitions.
  • Management of the revenue budget and income targets aligned to the teams working within the Assets and Estates Service to ensure that the teams operate in an effective and efficient manner

To be successful in this role as a Strategic Partnership Lead you will have:

  • Degree qualification or equivalent 
  • RICS qualification and membership
  • Excellent management and leadership skills
  • Local Authority experience- desirable 
  • Significant experience within a local authority or similarly complex organisation in a middle/senior management position
  • Experience of managing significant budgets

This is a full time role, 37 hours per week. The pay rate for this role is between £400 and £550 per day. 

Hybrid working pattern: Have to be in every Wed, one week its 1 day in the office, second week its 2 days in the office.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis, the team currently work three days in the office.
