Role: Stock Condition Surveyor

Location: Barnstaple and surrounding areas

Salary: £23,000 - £26,250 per annum depending on experience plus £1,350 essential car user allowance

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

The Role

As a member of the team of surveyors working at North Devon Homes you will ensure that an effective and efficient service is provided in terms of; timely information is collated through stock condition surveys; ensuring that the asset management database is maintained and kept up to date with stock condition data; Ensuring communal re-inspections are undertaken as required; Ensuring compliance with any building related legislation is being monitored and enforced e.g. fire safety, Legionella, HHSRS etc; Repairs are raised and monitored.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

  • To carry out stock condition surveys using tablet/portable devices to record data, take photo’s and synchronise records with the asset database.
  • To appraise and update asset life information of building components, for validation by the Lead Surveyor.
  • To assess and record the condition of properties, including residential dwellings, residential blocks, garages, roads, parking, and commercial units.

About You

  • You will have a passion for working in a customer focused environment.
  • You will have a good knowledge of building / property inspections and strong IT skills.
  • You will have previous demonstrable experience of undertaking property surveys, defects analysis, report writing and subsequent remedy within domestic housing within the social housing sector.
  • You will be able to drive and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.
  • Technical survey knowledge plus building qualifications would be an advantage
  • Asbestos awareness training, working with asbestos training and H&S training would be desirable.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a Basic DBS check.
