A Steel Operative is required for an internationally trading steel company based in the Halesowen area.

If you have experience within the steel industry this steel operative / overhead crane operator position could be ideal for you. You will be responsible for the banding up of steel, operating cranes to handle steel and driving counterbalance forklift trucks, amongst other duties.

Duties include;

  • Working on the back end of processing lines, e.g. Slitters
  • Banding up of processed steel
  • Using manual and air banders
  • Visual quality checks of packs

The Steel Operative position is working day shifts.

Days: 6:00am - 4.30pm (with a 2:30pm finish on Fridays)

The rate of pay is starting at £12.15 per hour on days.

Once you have passed a 12 week probationary period you will be paid an additional daily attendance bonus of £11.71 per day. This effectively bumps your rate up by over £1 per hour.

Temporary position to start with, long term prospects for the right person if you do well during your first few weeks.
