PE Intervention - Oldham

We are specifically working with a 'Good' secondary school in Oldham, who are working exclusively with ourselves, to join them helping students in intervention classes for PE key stage 3 & 4 from September, on an ongoing basis, likely to be for the full academic year on a full-time basis.

You will be required to become fully immersed in the department, attend departmental meetings. As well as helping students in small groups to progress their PE ability, this may also include helping in lessons themselves. You may have to adapt your teaching to the students in front of you by helping them understand difficult aspects of PE.

This is a faith secondary all boys school which teaches a wide range of subject to their students to make sure they gain a fulfilling timetable. The students are keen to concentrate and work hard in their lesson, as they settle down to work quickly. The students' movement around the school quickly and orderly around the school, resulting in a calm environment which is ideal for learning.

The opportunity is to work at a school that has 'Good' behaviour and attitudes, which means students behave well in lesson and around the school site. Teachers' expectations of pupils' behaviour and achievements are high. There are also wide opportunities for students to engage in the local community and in the school life.

Minimum rate of pay - from £80 per day.

Hours - 8:30am - 4pm

Experience, Training and qualifications:

  • Secondary School experience or evidence of working with children
  • GCSE English and Maths grade 'C' or '4' & above
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, however training can be provided)
  • Up to date Prevent training issued in the last 3 years (essential, however, training can be provided)
  • Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, however training can be provided)

To be eligible you must have/be:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide a minimum of two references covering the last 2 years.
