Career Teachers are working in partnership with an independent specialist day school in Higher Disley, Stockport, who wish to appoint an Outdoor Education/PE Instructor to join their team, on a permanent basis.

Their highly experienced team is dedicated to providing outstanding education to children and young people aged between 7 and 16 who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition, and ADHD, and have many associated needs such as; social, emotional and mental health needs, communication needs and cognition and learning needs..

As an Outdoor Education/PE Teacher at this incredible provision, you will be an integral part of a team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything they do. The sessions will have no more than 6 pupils and will be delivered outside the classroom. There are lots of activities on offer to the pupils; mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, orienteering and lots of other outdoor activities to be implemented over the coming weeks.

About you

For this role, we are looking for someone who -

  • ideally has a Physical Education degree or similar
  • has experience of Sports Coaching or Instructing
  • has experience of working with children with challenging behaviour
  • loves the outdoors, likes a challenge and can build relationships, whilst putting in firm boundaries
