BASE: Rotational between Homerton Hospital London E9 and the

Adult Community Rehabilitation Team based at Orsman Road, N1

MANAGED BY: Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

JOB SUMMARY:

• To work across acute, rehabilitation and community services as part of a rotational programme.
• Be responsible for and provide the specialist assessment and intervention to a designated caseload of clients with communication and / or swallowing difficulties in hospital and/or community settings.
• Participate in the delivery of a Saturday service in the hospital team.
• Help support patients’ recreational programmes by occasionally working evenings.

• Supervise junior staff, therapy assistants and students.
• Actively contribute to the development of the Adult SLT service and services that form part of the rotation e.g. the Graham Stroke Unit, Acute team and Adult Community Rehabilitation Team (ACRT), by taking a lead on projects as required in line with Trust objectives, local policy, patient needs and government agenda
