What does this Specialist Behaviour Support Worker job involve?

Hours of Work: Part Time: 24+ Hours Per Week / Full Time: 40 hours per week - Shifts: 7am - 3pm / 2pm - 10pm

Specialist Behaviour Support Workers are responsible for supporting people with learning disabilities and behavioural needs to live full lives, develop skills and maintain their wellbeing.

Your role will include:

  • Support customer in diverse activities, enhancing independent living skills, and engaging in positive communication.
  • Foster connections, manage anxieties, and drive to activities using customer's vehicle in rotation.
  • Collate behavioral data and essential paperwork for analysis.
  • Communicate with family and key stakeholders, following policies and procedures.
  • Consistently review and assist in achieving customer's life goals.
  • Provide personal care and maintain project records.
  • Fulfill any additional duties as requested by management.

The Welwyn Supported Living Service will be a new home for one customer with learning disabilities and Autism, and we are looking to build a staff team with an excellent value base to support the customer to build their new life and develop their skills as an independent person.

Essential:

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with customers with Autism/Challenging Behaviour/learning disabilities
  • Driving licence and a willingness to drive as part of support duties;
  • Experience of facilitating creative activities for vulnerable adults
  • Have UK driving license
