Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Plymouth, UK

Position Type: Full-time/Part-time, Permanent/Temporary

Salary: £80 - £95

Start Date: ASAP or After Half Term

We are committed to inclusive education and are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team.

The Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the learning and welfare of students with a range of special educational needs. You will work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and parents to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that promote student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEN, both within the classroom and in one-to-one settings.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of IEPs.
  • Monitor and report on student progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt materials and teaching methods to meet students’ needs.
  • Encourage students’ social and emotional development.
  • Manage any behavioural or learning difficulties with patience and understanding.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN is preferred.
  • A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or 3 TA qualification, is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
