The opportunity:

Global Talent 2020 are proudly working with a fantastic Scottish Hospitality operator who already run 20 venues across the country, to find a Sous Chef for their venue in North Berwick on the East Coast of Scotland.

Travel allowance is negotiable for the right candidate and depending on location.

The venue is a stunning restaurant and local favourite amongst residents of the seaside town, serving fresh seafood and Scottish classics.

The food is all fresh, and this individual must have experience cooking sauces, dishes from raw ingredients and have great attention to detail.

During summer months the revenue can increase dramatically thanks to the popularity of the bustling local trade as tourists flock to the scenic location.

The venue is perfect for a first time Sous Chef or an experienced individual looking to change to a smaller venue as the trade is very seasonal.

There is an established team and a newly renovated kitchen for the right candidate to make their mark. You will lead the team when the Head Chef is not in so certain leadership qualities are a must.

This will be a 45 hour weekly contract.

The person:

Our long-established client at Global Talent 2020, is looking for a proven Sous Chef talent in the kitchen. With a classical understanding of modern Scottish, European, and classic French techniques. Someone who will always be readily approachable, possess a positive can-do mentality and personality, and be an effective communicator. Whilst, possessing sound leadership skills of others and a kitchen. Creative innovation is a must for the client’s guest’s food experiences. There will also be continued career opportunities to further your career, for the right minded individual.

The ideal Sous Chef candidate. must have had prior experience of working in a high-end quality restaurant, ideally with a minimum of one, to two rosette experience to their credit. You must be able to demonstrate good all-round classical culinary technical skills, whilst managing costs, food GP%. The ability to train and develop others within the team, are also highly desired skills, our client is looking for.

All Chef applicants will need to be able to demonstrate their technical abilities at the interview stage.
