Currently recruiting for an ambitious, enthusiastic and creative Sous Chef to join a dynamic catering company. A company the prides themselves on seasonal food that is delicious and different. Join a team of globally trained chefs that are known for their specialist design of tailor-made menus for any private party, as well as providing simply packaged solutions with impressive food and drink specialist knowledge for corporate clients.

You:

  • Some in experience in menu design from new ingredients to costing each item, food and equipment.

Responsibilities:

As a Sous Chef you are responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food. Working alongside the Head Chef you will manage daily kitchen activities, including overseeing staff, aiding with menu preparation, ensuring food quality and freshness, and monitoring ordering and stocking. You will provide meal quality and consistency by following designated recipes as well as assisting the Head Chef in menu design and recipe testing.

You will gain experience in the kitchen, at events, catering on site for fashion/film shoots, corporate catering, private parties, supper clubs and assist in the general day-to-day tasks of running a food and events business.

Roles:

  • To represent the company at events and on site at contracts and to manage the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
  • To always work to a high standard and assist other team members when needed.
  • Be competent in the ordering of food and kitchen supplies.
  • Quality control of all deliveries and suppliers.
  • Quality control over all food produced in the kitchen and at events.
  • Assist with ensuring there is well-organised stock control, rotation and monitoring.
  • To have an understanding and adhere to our company rules and regulations, specifically those relating to Food Hygiene and Health & Safety.

Sous Chef Skills and Qualifications:

Formal culinary training (ideally), 5 years previous catering experience, extensive food and beverage knowledge, strong organisational skills, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, self-motivated, creative, problem-solving skills. HACCP training & hygiene certificate Level 2 minimum. Full driving licence (not necessary but preferable).
