An expanding company, our client is a successful friendly business that designs and supplies a variety of own label and branded gift wrap, stationery, ceramics and gifts to major retail chains.

The role:

Due to growth, they now have a vacancy for a Sourcing Product Manager, ideally with experience within relevant product areas to join the company in West Yorkshire.

In this role, you will be responsible for bringing ranges of gift wrap and gifting products to market, from design stage through to delivery. Working closely with both customers and an international supply base, you will ensure that products are created to a detailed specification, delivered on time and within budget. You will take responsibility for supplier/factory management, cost negotiation and day to day running of the production capabilities of 3rd party factories overseas.

You will also have overall management and responsibility of the production team, including the 2 Product Managers, and Quality Manager. Responsibility to oversee the costing, quality, order placement and critical date paths for the business and playing a role in the management team.

The person:

The ideal candidate will be/have:

  • Knowledge or experience of the greetings, gift or related consumer goods products, as a very distinct advantage.
  • Previous experience of product management from cradle to grave.
  • Previous experience of working with overseas, in particular, Far Eastern supply base.
  • Highly organised, with a methodical and focused work attitude and great attention to detail.
  • Forward thinking and pro-active with excellent time management skills to handle a varied workload.
  • Practical and enthusiastic, with a desire to succeed and a great work ethic.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with people quickly and effectively.
