Quest Search & Selection are partnering with this leading food buying & procurement organisation based in the UK. Their clients will include foodservice sites and hospitality partners who would purchase food, ingredients, and everything in-between! This business work closely with their clients to deliver expert procurement services saving them both time and money whilst offering a unique purchasing power.

This role of the Sourcing Manager to ensure procurement of appropriate products and services within our non-food category. This role works closely with Category and Buying teams, as well as the wider organization, to achieve commercial key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the right commercials are in place whilst aligning with the broader strategic & ESG targets.

The responsibilities of this Sourcing Manager (non-food):

  • Take ownership of sourcing outcomes for projects within your scope, aligning them with the company strategy, minimising supply chain risk, and delivering value to all clients.
  • Manage a portfolio of tenders, utilising team of buyers depending on the complexity of the tender.
  • Products include Equipment, Cleaning, Stationery, Facilities and Service
  • Ensure that projects meet or exceed set targets by employing best practices.
  • Have full understanding on the supply chain on ways to increase efficiencies and mitigate risks.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams, fostering collaboration to identify future opportunities for value creation.
  • Enhance the visibility of strategic sourcing activities and results by establishing a platform for effective communication internally.
  • Identify market trends and insights related to top-notch procurement practices.
  • Conduct research and monitoring of commodity markets and macro trends.
  • Continue to manage, develop, and coach the buyers to ensure their optimal performance.
  • Ensure compliance with contracting requirements.

The experience required for this Strategic Sourcing Manager (non-food):

  • Ideally having 4+ years of experience within non-food categories either in retail or procurement.
  • Backgrounds in GNFR, services, stationery, cleaning products and machinery/equipment etc is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrate a solid background in procurement, with a specific focus on strategic sourcing and/or category/buying management.
  • Have a sold understanding of the end-to-end supply chain processes.
  • Have worked extensively with tendering processes.
  • Working towards or have your CIPS certification would be desirable but not essential.
  • Exhibit the ability to influence and obtain buy-in from senior stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Display strong decision-making skills and commercial acumen, capable of performing effectively under pressure.
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic, with the capacity to manage multiple projects and meet demanding deadlines.
