An award-winning, modern-thinking and successful law firm in Exeter are looking for an Intellectual Property and Technology Lawyer to join their established and reputable team. With high-quality work and the chance to be a part of one of the most desirable law firms to work for, this is a great opportunity for a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive looking to take their career to the next level, working within one of the most reputable teams in the Southwest, for this area of law. The ideal candidate will have at least circa 2 years' PQE working within IP / Tech law, although we are also considering candidates with more experience than this. We are ideally after someone who is commercially aware and who can be a positive ambassador for the firm.

Tasks will include:

  • Working as a lawyer within this award-winning Intellectual Property, Data Protection and Technology team
  • Being collectively responsible for a global portfolio of clients
  • You will be advising clients on the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, Privacy of Electronic Communications Regulations, Freedom of Information Act 2000 and Environmental Information Regulations 2004
  • You will be involved in operational compliance such as policy drafting, data transfer management, direct marketing and subject access rights management, and incident and crisis management
  • You will be reviewing, negotiating and drafting commercial contracts including development, outsourcing, procurement contracts and frameworks

Skills and experience sought:

  • 2 years' plus PQE within IP / Technology law
  • A credible, ambitious personality
  • Someone who enjoys a modern team environment
  • You will have the ability to enhance the firm's clients’ experience through the delivery of exceptional client service
