Sole Housekeeper & Butler

The Burford Recruitment Company are delighted to be working on behalf of an UHNWI who is looking for an experienced hands-on Butler/Housekeeper to look after his secondary residence, a stunning property and grounds located in Woodstock, Oxfordshire.

In this multifaceted role, you would have sole responsibility for the house. There are no other household staff, as the principal travels frequently and only resides at this property 90-120 days spread throughout the year, with an average stay of 5-10 days.

This excellent opportunity works on a 'give and take’ high trust basis, and a flexible and adaptable attitude is a must!

Therefor, we are seeking an independent and confident individual with experience and capabilities in the following areas

• Keeping the house and outbuildings (gym, orangery, sauna) to a high standard of cleanliness
• Laundry and ironing to a high standard
• Experience in caring for valuable objects, antique furniture and silverware
• Taking bins out as necessary daily
• In the winter: cleaning fireplaces
• In the summer: setting up pool (opening umbrellas, putting cushions out)
• Preparing and serving breakfast for the Principal when he is in residence
• Serving other meals and making drinks for the Principal and his guests
• Food shopping / restocking of the house
• Taking and unpacking deliveries and post
• Packing and unpacking for the Principal
• Elementary cooking skills in case the Chef is not travelling with the principal on occasion
• Assisting in caring for dogs, as required. The dogs travel with the principal but may on occasion be left at the house for short periods.

• Circa 50K gross annual pay
• Discretionary yearly bonus

• 28 days annual leave + 8 public holidays
• 8h per day / 5 days a week (longer hours and weekends required when Principal is in residence)
