Family Support Worker - Rewarding Opportunity Supporting Children with Disabilities

Our Client, a leading local authority dedicated to the well-being of children, is seeking compassionate and experienced Family Support Workers to join their dynamic Children with Disabilities Service.

About the Role:

This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children with disabilities and their families. As a Family Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in assessing family needs, developing support plans, and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure children receive the care they require within their home environment.

Responsibilities:

Conduct regular home visits to assess and review the needs of children and their families.
Develop and implement individualized support plans in collaboration with families and professionals.
Identify and connect families with appropriate resources and services.
Advocate for children with disabilities and ensure their voices are heard.
Collaborate with colleagues in education, healthcare, and other relevant agencies.
Maintain accurate and confidential case records.

Qualifications and Experience:

Vocational Qualifications Level 3/4 (or equivalent) in a relevant field, with experience working with children with disabilities and their families.
Understanding of relevant legislation, including the Children Act (1989) and the Children and Families Act (2014).
Strong communication, interpersonal, and assessment skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and provide support to colleagues.
Commitment to improving the quality of life for children with disabilities.
