SMT Technician (manufacturing)
£28,000 - £28,000
Hours: 39 per week. Monday - Thursday 7.30am - 4.30pm & Friday 7.30am - 12.30pm

Job Purpose:
To carry out manufacturing process steps for the assembly of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and assemble product to agreed quality levels to meet customer expectations
Main Duties:
- Set-up and run SMT lines to specified efficiency and process quality levels
- Ensure product meets IPC 610 to the specified class
- Input and preparation of process control documentation including first off inspection
- Work closely with team and other technicians to support in fault finding and innovative solutions
- Ensure you are familiar with the department’s output production targets
- Complete all necessary paperwork and update databases to meet the requirements of the quality management system
- Ensure compliance with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturing process
- Maintain to the highest level workmanship and product standards, and ensure no scrap is created with minimal re-work outside of design
Person Specification:
- Accurate with good manual dexterity
- Desire to learn and develop
- Interest in electronics / manufacturing
Previous experience required:
- Experience of running pick and place machines, (preferably MyData, Dek, Jet printer, SPI,X-ray and reflow ovens)
- Previous experience in working from circuit and Engineering drawings
- Good component recognition skills
Preferable skills:
- Preferable creating DEK, SPI, Jet printer programs, not essential as training will be given
- Previous experience of package creation would be beneficial
