Pertemps Isle of Wight are currently seeking a Skip Welder to join a leading skip hire company operating in Newport on the Isle of Wight. As a Skip Welder, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing skips used for waste disposal. Your work will directly impact the ability to provide top-notch service for our client.
Responsibilities:
- Repair damaged skips by welding and reinforcing structural components.
- Inspect skips for safety compliance and structural integrity.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely repairs.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks on our fleet of vehicles.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a welder, preferably with skip repair experience.
- Proficient in MIG and/or Stick welding techniques.
- Ability to read technical drawings and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle maintenance is a plus.
- Reliable transport to get to and from the site.
