Site Supervisor / Plant Erector

Location: North Walsham, Norfolk

Salary: Negotiable

Our clients are a well-respected engineering company based in North Walsham, specialising in the Animal Feed and Flour Milling industries.

They are seeking to reinforce their Site Fitting team.

The Role

The role involves mechanical fitting and plant erection duties, working on customer sites.  The successful applicant will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining machinery, as well as performing preventive maintenance and repairs as required.

Skills and Experience

  • Hands-on experience in fitting and mechanical installation of plant, machinery and structural steelwork.
  • Ability to work at height.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance and maintenance procedures for mechanical handling machinery.
  • Experience in mechanical handling machinery assembly and erection.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and diagrams.
  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
  • Good appreciation of health and safety within the CDM requirements and commitment to regulations and method statements.
  • Experience in welding and fabrication is an added advantage.
  • Relevant certification in mechanical engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Weekend and working away will be required (UK coverage).
  • Applicants should show willingness to travel and be comfortable with periods working away from home.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Full Clean UK driving license
