Power Capacitors Ltd has an exciting opportunity for a Site Services Engineer to join the team.

Location: Birmingham (Headquarters) – all over the UK (Site Services Engineer Role)

Salary: Circa £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Contracted Hours: 76.5 hours across two weeks (Site Services Engineer – working externally)

Site Services Engineer – The Role:

To meet any sitework requirements including surveying, installation, servicing and repairs of PFC and Power Quality equipment.

The Site Services Engineer role is paid monthly with different working hours for alternate weeks:

Week One – Mo-Fr (8am – 5pm) with a 30 minute unpaid lunch totalling 42.5 hours.

Week Two – Mo-Th (8am – 5pm) with a 30 minute unpaid lunch totalling 34 hours.

Site Services Engineer – Key Responsibilities:

- Assembly, wiring and testing of Power Factor Correction (PFC) and Power Quality (PQ) equipment

- Necessary training will be given in the factory to ensure the candidate is familiar with the products

- Installing, maintaining, repairing & servicing PFC/Power Quality equipment

- Testing and commissioning of PFC/Power Quality equipment on site

- Carry out 7-day load surveys, returning data to the engineering office for processing

- Take photos of all works pre- and post-completion

- Completing job cards and paperwork as required. Remote upload of the completed documentation and photos to the Site Services Administration Team

- Evaluate customer requirements and discuss these with the client and Sales Team as required

- Make recommendations for repair, replacement and installation as required

- Professional and cordial conduct with customers

- Maintain a safe working environment and comply with the health and safety regulations.

- Liaise regularly with the Sales Team to keep updated with upcoming work

- Maintain your company vehicle to a high standard of cleanliness/presentation/roadworthiness

- Employees are provided with a Company credit card to cover expenses. Receipts should be submitted in a timely fashion

- Ensure the van is stocked with agreed levels of necessary equipment

- Familiarity with the Company Documented Quality System - in particular, but not exclusively, the documents and procedures relating to Site Services and Non-Conformances

Site Services Engineer – You:

You will have some if not all of the following:

- Panel Building experience essential (e.g. switchgear, power cabling, not “fine-wiring” such as telephone/alarm systems)

- City & Guilds Parts l, ll & lll in Electrical Installation Work or equivalent

- City & Guilds BS7671: 1992 Requirements for Electrical Installations (IEE Wiring Regulations, 18th Edition)

- Appropriate Joint Industry Board (JIB)/ECS card (Gold Electrician card or Field Engineer related discipline card)

- CCNSG Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) Safety Passport

- Preferably, a successfully completed electrical apprenticeship lasting at least four years

- Previous employment in a similar role would be preferable

- Experience working in line with H&S regulations

- Familiarity with MS-Office Suite desirable
