Welcome to our (green) world

Grundon is an innovative and award-winning waste company working with over 12,000 businesses of all shapes and sizes, and we've been taking positive environmental actions for over 20 years. Many of our sites are self-sufficient in energy, our aerosol recycling facility is the world's most advanced and we recently launched the UK's first nationwide inhaler recycling scheme.

About the Site Chemist Placement

We're now accepting applications for our new undergraduate placement - an opportunity to apply your learning and develop your skills before completing your final year at uni.

If successful, you will join our busy industry-leading hazardous waste transfer facility in South Oxfordshire this summer for 12 months on a fixed term contract, earning an annual salary of £24,960 plus a host of benefits. Working hours are 7am-4pm or 9am-6pm Mon-Fri, rotated on a fortnightly basis. A total of 40 hours per week.

What you'll be doing as Site Chemist Placement

Joining our hard-working and highly skilled Technical team, you will help with the day-to-day operation of the transfer station in a hands-on job that involves being outdoors in all weathers. Tasks will include inspecting, classifying and segregating waste, completing essential documentation, preparing loads for dispatch, operating machinery and mucking in with jet-washing the yard.

The successful student will:

- have a basic understanding of chemicals and their hazards.

- be able to work within potentially difficult environments i.e. wearing protective suits and respirators.

- have a strong desire to learn.
