You’re an experienced Site Agent, Site Manager, Foreman or Works Manager used to managing direct teams as well as sub-contractors. You’ll use your expertise to ensure the smooth and timely running of multiple civil, groundwork and highway projects, local to Staffordshire / Shropshire. JOB DESCRIPTION: Site Agent, Foreman, Civil Site Manager, Works Manager – highways, civil, groundworks, construction.

As our Site Agent you’ll travel to each project site daily to regularly review progress, check quality of work and liaise with customers. You’ll ensure that each project is delivered to the highest quality, keep things on time and on budget.

Most of your work will be based an hour out of Stoke on Trent, so you’ll be home every evening (no more travelling ridiculous miles or overnight stays). Projects will vary in duration, ranging anywhere from 2-16 weeks and will include:

· Roads, Car Parks & Estate Management
· Public Highways, Footpaths & Crossings
· Drives & Dropped Kerbs
· Specialist Surfacing
· Groundworks & General Civil Engineering
· External Works & Landscaping

This is an extremely varied role and you’ll be responsible for measuring & ordering, contracts, stock delivery, team leadership, quality and time performance, Health & Safety, customer communication, fleet management and ensuring that everything runs safely and efficiently.

PERSON SPECIFICATION: Site Manager, Foreman, Site Agent, Civil Site Manager, Works Manager – highways, civil, groundworks, construction.

You MUST be proven as a Site Agent, Site Foreman, Civil Site Manager, Works Manager, Site Manager or Project Manager.

Your experience is likely to come from time served with a sub-contractor, civil engineering or surfacing, where you’ve worked your way through to Foreman from a Trade background. Either way you’ll have demonstrable experience of managing directly employed team.

In addition, you will:

· Understand costs and programmes and how to track them, have a sound knowledge of Health & Safety, tools and plant.
· Be a great people manager, enjoy customer contact.
· Be skilled at thinking on your feet to solve problems.
· Have knowledge of IT programmes such as excel, word, etc and be used to using work based apps on your phone or tablet.

It’s also highly likely that you’ll be qualified in SMSTS and/or have Streetworks Qualification, although this isn’t essential.
