Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a manufacturer based in Leeds to recruit a Simulation Engineer.

The Simulation Engineer willbe responsible for running structural analysis to support the development phases of new and current projects.

Our client is looking for someone who possesses a can-do & do it right first-time mindset, can seamlessly integrate between test and simulation and has an excellent understanding of mechanical engineering to be able tofeedback on the analysis outcomes and propose improvements.

 Duties of the Simulation Engineer include:

  • Work together with other teams to deliver the design for manufacturing, cost and weight improvements
  • Be on top of the deliverables ensuring the simulations are as accurate as possible 
  • Suggest and implement improvements to the virtual DVP from current and past field issues 
  • When confidence level on the results is low, provide recommendations for confidence built up
  • Manage third party simulation companies
  • Work with low supervision 
  • Be aware of simulation's latest technologies and techniques

We would be keen to speak with Simulation Engineers with the following:

  • Experience in static structural analysis in the automotive industry
  • Practical knowledge of pre-processing preferably in HyperMesh/HyperWorks interface
  • Good knowledge of the fatigue behaviour of materials and welded joints
  • Experience working with Commercial / electric vehicle
  • Awareness of Instrumentation and data processing
  • Experience with CAE model calibration
