The UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, who is our client, are looking for a Simulation & Modelling Engineer in Bristol to work within a dynamic team the central to the design and development of MBDA's complex guided weapon systems products. As a Simulation & Modelling Engineer with previous experience, you will play a vital role in designing and developing MBDA's complex guided weapon systems products.

The Simulation & Modelling Engineer is responsible for developing models for various purposes throughout the lifecycle of products, such as concept activities, performance studies, and customer training support. The department comprises over 50 engineers across two locations, contributing to numerous projects within the product portfolio.

What we're looking for:

An appropriate competent Engineering Degree or master's, e.g. (Systems or Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics).

  • Simulation and Modelling - preferably on Aerospace projects.
  • The MathWorks products - specifically Simulink, Embedded MATLAB and Stateflow.
  • Ability to produce a computer simulation (/Simulink model) from a mathematical specification.
  • Understanding of the modelling process and working within a quality process.
  • Rational Team Concert (or similar Configuration and Management Tools).
  • DOORS (or similar Requirement Management Tools); C, FORTRAN, or Ada.

What you'll get to do as a Simulation & Modelling Engineer:

The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for developing, integrating, and testing models, as well as conducting reviews and creating supporting documents to ensure that appropriate quality standards are met. You will have the opportunity to work autonomously and interact with other functional teams such as Guidance Navigation & Control, Software, Hardware-in-the-Loop, Systems Design, and Quality Assurance. Additionally, you will be expected to perform technical analyses and research to identify solutions to a range of issues and problems, either independently or as part of a project team. You must support your team lead and fellow team members to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project delivery.
