To provide relief cover for Shop Managers for days off annual leave and unexpected absence. The successful candidate will have a flexible attitude and be committed to providing the best in customer service. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the shop is well stocked and displayed with trading and donated good
  • Ensure Volunteers are suitably motivated and supported in line with our guideline
  • Carry out sorting, tagging and pricing of donated goods when required and ensuring that the best price is obtained, ensuring that cash handling procedures are adhered to at all times; ensuring that donated goods are weeded on a regular basis as required; participating in the monthly ‘in shop' stock take and the bi-annual stock take as required
  • Cover days off for Shop Managers and provide sickness and holiday cover for other staff and assist where there is a workload priority
  • Encourage volunteers to join the team and work with volunteers, guiding them where necessary
  • Become the key holder for the shop(s) in which you work, and be responsible for the opening and closing of the shop
  • Ensure that the shop is constantly tidied and kept clean at all times, while notifying the Shop Manager of any repairs or maintenance required
  • Carrying out regular banking of shops takings as required
  • Carry out a daily/weekly completion of Cash Summary sheet / weekly completion of shops paperwork as required
  • Communicate with customers, in partnership with other teams, to ensure that all the Directorate's services are delivered seamlessly

Experience

  • Previous experience in a sales environment

Knowledge/Skills

  • Excellent customer service, team working and communication skills
  • Knowledge of displaying, selling, and promoting high-end luxury items
  • Commercial awareness and ability to create a customer journey to the highest level
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure, be a problem solver and decision maker
  • Ability to create high end visual displays and store layout

The hourly rate for bank roles £11.95 per hour plus holiday allowance.
