A fabulous opportunity has arisen for an Production Manager for a growing, chilled food processing company based in Malton, North Yorkshire.

This would be a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Shift Production Manager, looking to join an expanding company with a clear career path and plenty of progression.

The role of the Shift Production Manager:
You will be responsible for ensuring production targets are met to the required quality standards for your section whilst delivering in the key performance areas of H&S, GMP, cost, material usage, productivity, efficiency and waste levels, as well as being highly focused on food safety, quality, productivity and efficiency of the site.

Your main duties will be :
* To ensure that the shift delivers the daily and weekly production plan in line with the core operating and technical procedures of the business.
* Collaborate with management to ensure that the staffing levels are appropriate, and the team have the skills and training to meet the needs of the business
* To assist and coach the production team to help them achieve daily output targets and meet the operating plan.
* Support management in developing the operating plan for the business.
* To ensure adherence to all Health and Safety policies adopted by TTC. Liaising with the H&S Team, to monitor and develop procedures to ensure that the Company has the appropriate focus in place to meet it's statutory Health and Safety responsibilities.
* To maintain excellent GMP standards at all times, delivering quality standards required of customers and external audits, for example BRC
* Deliver the daily production plan and ensure a shift report is completed and emailed out to the management team
* To manage and control set KPI's, Plan attainment, Yield, Cost of Quality, Labour, Downtime and Waste and report reasons when not met
* Proactive day to day problem solving to ensure daily plan is met - this includes bottleneck management and team management to ensure throughputs maintained at target levels.
* Proactively suggest process improvements that can improve throughput and efficiency.
* Work with Planning Manager to make sure that production meets daily order fulfilment needs in a timely and technically sound manner.
* To manage and control the data collection systems and monitoring processes, ensuring that all documentation and communication is processed and delivered to the cross functional departments, as required on a timely and regular basis.
* To motivate, manage, train and develop team workers and also, the recruitment and retention of new starters.
* To carry out the HR function of the shift, in dealing with development and staff management, which will involve investigations and disciplinaries.
* Ensure staffing levels are optimised and any holiday /sick cover is in place, and skills gaps are addressed.
* Do a daily maintenance walk round of all machines in the factory and flag any issues on the check list and pass to Engineering Team via QMS request
* Help the Project Team to trial new equipment for - piece size, pack formats and batch size

The Person:

* Have experience within a chilled food environment with a sound knowledge of the technical and quality aspects of food production
* Experience of working to and monitoring progress against KPIs
* Logical and analytical thinking
* Establishing practices to maintain a Food Safety and Quality focused mind-set that holds people to account for those standards.
* Strong communication skills to influence at all levels
* Be quality focused - acting with our customer in mind at all times
* Be flexible and adaptable to meet changing business demands

Knowledge and Skills required:
* Health and Safety Requirements within FMCG

* Excellent people management skills
* Highly driven and motivated.

Working Hours

Day shift- 44 hours a week, 4 from 7
