Domus Recruitment are working with our client based in Herefordshire, who is actively seeking a new Service Manager, to oversee two of their Residential Services, supporting adults with Complex Mental Health needs.  These services have a stable team of Team Leaders & Support Workers in place, and have no existing issues in service.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of Complex Mental Health Needs and great people management skills.

Key Responsibilities of a Service Manager:
  • Supervise, mentor, and act as a positive leader to Team Leaders and Support Workers to ensure effective and efficient person-centred service delivery to all people who use the service.
  • To understand the service specification including expectations on support to be delivered
  • Be passionate about upholding the rights of the people we support & embed PBS fundamentals across the services. Trauma informed support is key.
  • Monitor and report on compliance with health, safety and security regulations and requirements. Undertake regular audits and risk assessments in line with safe practices in the workplace.
  • Participate in rotational on-call system as assigned. In the absence of the Area Manager deputise responsibilities and aspects of their role to ensure the seamless operation of the office and regional services.
Service Manager Requirements:
  • Already working in or previous experience of working in mental health services, preferably at the level of senior/team leader or above
  • Professional Qualification/NVQ Level 3.
  • Be an effective leader, positively engaging with your team to deliver exceptional service, reviewing and setting improvement targets, balancing a coaching, support approach for staff teams.
  • Up to date with current thinking around effective models of intervention which support the principals of recovery - shifting the balance from medical intervention to a psycho-social perspective-with the confidence and ability to impart this to your team
  • Developing and maintaining good working relations with relevant agencies, keeping abreast of developments in local policy and services, as well as engaging with local community links with a view to identifying opportunities for service enhancement.
  • Proven experience in promoting a better understanding of mental health issues to both internal and external clients.
  • This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check
