Based from home with frequent travel*
£31,000 -£33,000 plus £3,000 car allowance


Acuity Care Group is a leading specialist provider of Leaning Disabilities and Autism to individuals throughout the UK. We support both adults & children with long term support needs.

As Service Manager, you will be responsible for the set up and mobilisation of new care packages and for the ongoing maintenance of services for a range of individuals with varying requirements, focusing on the *Darlington, Stockton, Doncaster and Rotherham areas, facilitated by the individuals team of Support Workers. You will be supported by the Operations Manager for your region.

Reporting to the Operations Manager and working as part of a regional team, this is a fast-paced diverse role involving regular contact with individuals, their families, CCG’s and clinicians, to ensure that person-centred care is never compromised and compliance standards are diligently adhered to.

To be successful in the role, you will need to have a genuine passion for delivering high standards of care and be committed to really making a difference to your individuals lives. You will have experience of managing a team and will need to be able to work at pace, have a good understanding of the 5 Key Lines Of Enquiry, have excellent time-management skills and be an effective communicator.

You will also be required to participate in an on-call rota to provide out of hours support to clients and staff for your area. Travel to clients in your region minimum 3 x weekly and bi-monthly visits to our Nottingham Head Office is also required. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruiting and inducting Support Workers
  • Supervising and supporting your teams
  • Attending regular meetings with your clients, CCG contacts, peers and management
  • Rota planning
  • Carrying out risk assessments
  • Delivering training to team members
  • Coordinate set up of new care packages
  • Incident management, investigations, disciplinaries and grievances
  • Providing regular reports and updates
  • Cover shifts to support clients

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • Experience of managing multiple care packages including rota planning
  • Expertise and knowledge of working within the care sector
  • The ability to carry out assessments and devise care plans and risk assessments
  • Experience of managing Support Workers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to organise a busy workload and prioritise effectively
  • A working knowledge of CQC regulations and compliance within the care industry
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • The ability to lead by example to motivate and develop your teams
  • The ability to understand financial data and sales & margin reports
  • A full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle
  • Experience working with individuals with learning, disabilities or autism.
