Senior VAT Accountant

An exciting opportunity for a Senior VAT Accountant, experienced in the FMCG industry, to join a well-established accounting & finance team based in Basingstoke. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in VAT and Tax accounting and will be keen to apply their skills in a fast-paced environment.

My client is an established company in the consumer goods industry. It is a large organisation with a strong presence in the global market. The company's headquarters is located in Basingstoke and it employs a vast number of employees across multiple different divisions.

Description

• Oversee and manage all VAT related activities within the company.
• Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and international accounting standards.
• Reconciliation of GL sales to reported VAT sales.
• Monthly GL reconciliations and monthly GL Journal.
• Lead VAT audits and investigations.
• Produce accurate, well documented, and timely tax analysis for Branch corporate tax returns and where required, local financial statements.
• Support EU Branch tax audits including coordination of the audit in person.
• Implement improvements to VAT processes and systems.
• Work closely with the wider accounting and finance team.
• Take the lead on VAT projects and improvement initiatives in line with overall Finance Strategy.

Profile

A successful Senior VAT Accountant should have:

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of VAT accounting and compliance.
• ACCA, ACA, CIMA qualified
• Experience with Oracle, specifically Oracle Financials
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office.
