Senior VAT Accountant

Senior VAT Accountant - up to £70,000 - Permanent - Hook - Hybrid

FryerMiles are delighted to be working with an industry leading business based in Hook to assist with their recruitment of a Senior VAT Accountant on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review & submit VAT returns and European Sales Lists for EU & Non EU jurisdictions
• File the VAT returns and European sales lists for European entities in line with deadlines
• Reconciliation of GL sales to reported VAT sales
• Code import VAT and duty invoices. Ensure back-up documents are correct
• Ensure process notes are updated regularly.
• Monthly GL reconciliations and monthly GL Journals
• Act in an advisory capacity to the business in area of specialism 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that VAT is correctly accounted for on all transactions.
• Proactively support IT team to maintain VAT matrix, VAT rules and VAT rate codes. Responsible for all testing and migration of systematic ERP changes in respect of all VAT matters.
• Performs other related duties and assignments as required
• Take the lead on VAT projects and improvement initiatives in line with overall Finance Strategy.

Candidate Requirements:

• Experience of VAT with a European Remit
• Excellent Excel skills 
• Professional Accounting qualification desired
• Experience with Oracle Financials advantageous
