Senior Town Planner

Salary: Negotiable depending on skills and experience

An excellent opportunity has become available for a Senior Town Planner to join a leading planning and design firm in Nottingham. The company deliver expert Planning, Environmental and Design services for their clients in the residential, commercial, retail and education sectors.

Qualifications:

Ideally candidates will have a relevant planning related BSc / MSc (or equivalent) and will have achieved Chartered status with the RTPI.

Experience:

Applications are sought from candidates with a minimum of five years planning experience, preferably within a consultancy environment, preparing planning applications and appeals, liaising with clients and local authorities and formulating development strategies.

Duties:

  • Preparing planning applications and appeals
  • Advising landowners and developers on projects and policy issues
  • Negotiating with local authorities
  • Present proposals at planning committees
  • Assisting the Director with the winning of new work
  • Mentoring junior members of staff
