Job Opportunity: Senior Social Worker - Initial Consultation and Advice Team (ICAT)

Location: Hammersmith and Fulham, London

About the Role:

As a Senior Social Worker, you'll be at the forefront of safeguarding vulnerable children and young people within our community. Your leadership will be pivotal in guiding and supporting our dedicated ICAT team to deliver exceptional safeguarding services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of dedicated social workers within ICAT, ensuring timely and comprehensive assessments of safeguarding concerns and coordinating appropriate interventions.
  • Apply your expertise to assess and manage complex cases, offering consultation and guidance to team members and partner agencies.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for external agencies, fostering close collaboration to share critical information and make informed decisions in the best interest of children and young people.
  • Actively participate in case conferences and meetings, advocating for the rights and well-being of children and young people, ensuring their voices are heard.
  • Maintain meticulous records and contribute to the development and implementation of effective safeguarding policies, procedures, and best practice standards.
  • Support the professional growth and development of the team through supervision, mentoring, and training.

Requirements:

  • Hold a recognized Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England.
  • Possess extensive experience working within a safeguarding context, with a strong grasp of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrate proven leadership skills, including the ability to inspire and motivate a team and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Exhibit exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues, partner agencies, and diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze complex information, assess risks, and make evidence-based decisions to safeguard the well-being of children and young people.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the capacity to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Show dedication to ongoing professional development and a genuine passion for promoting positive outcomes for children and young people.
