Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Senior Residential Childcare Worker to work full time based in a Children’s home in Leeds.

The salary for this permanent Senior Residential Childcare Worker job is up to £31,305

Main Duties:

  • Specialise in providing nurture and care to children and young people who are looked after
  • Create a home environment that exceeds the needs of the children and young people – enabling them to express their characters, feel safe and enrich their lives
  • Advocate pro-actively for each young person’s needs, rights and views and ensure that these are met
  • Make certain that each young person’s individuality, difference and diversity are always appreciated and that our young people are provided with equal opportunities and are not discriminated against
  • Encourage each young person to be involved in all aspects of their care, this will involve skill development, problem solving and assessment of risk, while being mindful of their individual capabilities
  • Support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in providing the best quality childcare in a safe and trauma informed care focussed environment for the young people
  • Responsibilities for monitoring and supervision of staff and take responsibility for the day to day management, and guidance of colleagues whilst ensuring the welfare and care of the young people

Requirements of this job:

  • Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification or equivalent
  • Level 5 Leadership and Management in Residential Children’s Care qualification or equivalent, or willingness to undertake this
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working within Children’s residential care
  • Ability to show leadership skills
  • Experience of managing budgets
  • Direct involvement in Ofsted inspections
