We are searching for a SeniorReceptionist for a client based in Blackburn, on a full-time and permanent basis. This opportunity offers excellent benefits including a huge annual leave entitlement, free lunch every day, private healthcare and a competitive salary.

The successful candidate will join a 50/50 role, with half of the time completing Senior Receptionist duties and the other half as an Attendance Administrator for the School. The mix of front-of-house and other tasks will keep the role varied and interesting, as no two days are the same. School experience is not essential.

What will be expected of you:

The Senior Receptionist will work closely with the Office Manager to deliver an effective and efficient centralised support service. The successful candidate will supervise two receptionists and will lead attendance administration.

The receptions are the first point of call for visitors to the business. As the 'face' of the business the receptionists should be welcoming, personable, helpful and able to represent the business professionally and friendly.

  • Supervise the front-of-house team and area
  • Daily collation of school registers, checking for absences.
  • Coordinate the first-day calling of absences.
  • Communicating with parents regarding all aspects of school life, receiving and passing on information between parents and teachers in a timely manner with minimum disruption to lessons.
  • Distribution of correspondence to parents.
  • Ensuring visitors follow safeguarding procedures by issuing passes
  • Answer incoming calls and transfer to relevant staff
  • Receive and sign for all packages and deliveries
  • Record and post all outgoing mail, distribute incoming post and frank outgoing post
  • Keep the reception area clean and tidy
  • Support the office manager with administrative tasks which could assist any part of the business

The perfect candidate will:

  • Be well-presented and reliable
  • Have excellent communication skills and telephone manner
  • Be personable, welcoming and helpful
  • Be organised
  • Have strong IT skills in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook) and databases
  • Have experience working in an administrative role
  • Experience within a School or working with SIMS would be a bonus but is not essential
