Senior Quantity Surveyor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join to leading main contractor in Plymouth. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will quickly become an integral part of my clients commercial team in the South West and taking responsibility for the development of a small team and delivery of a £30m infrastructure project.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all commercial aspects on the project from the procurement of subcontract accounts and subcontractor management through to change management and negotiation of final accounts. Some of your main responsibilities will include:

• Full commercial management from post tender stage to agreement of final accounts. This will include cost monitoring, application and management of cash flow, presentation of CVR's and forecasting
• Taking control of the change management process including drafting of all correspondence, valuations, agreement and implementation of Compensation Events
• Subcontract management
• Providing general commercial and contractual advice and guidance to project team
• Contribute to the overall project strategy and decision making
• Support the wider commercial team including an AQS and QS with the development of their own careers

Senior Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity will need to have:

• BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying
• Excellent communication skills
• Familiarity with the NEC suite of contracts
• Proven experience delivering civil engineering/infrastructure projects
