Our client, a reputable civil engineering contractor based in Lancashire, is actively seeking a talented and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

Position Overview: As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of quantity surveying, including cost management, procurement, and contract administration. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving cost efficiency, mitigating risks, and maximizing profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting cost estimates, budgets, and valuations for tender submissions.
  • Managing subcontractor procurement and negotiations.
  • Monitoring project costs and implementing effective cost control measures.
  • Evaluating variations and managing change orders.
  • Providing contractual advice and support to project teams.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to resolve commercial issues.
  • Producing accurate and timely financial reports.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the civil engineering sector.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in industry software such as CostX, CCS Candy, or similar.
  • MRICS or similar professional accreditation preferred.
